73 Days to go!
Hi, Isabel and Seth here. We figured that it would be neat if we both told you our story from our perspective, so enjoy
ISABEL:
Seth and I met as Electrical and Computer Engineering majors at CBU.
For a while, we were just classmates—spending time together through
our engineering club, working on lab projects, casually hanging out in
the same friend group. Nothing either of us thought too much about.
SETH:
I didn’t notice Isabel at all, to be honest. I had several conversations with her,
I was her TA for a class, and I was even lab partners with her for a big project,
but I barely remembered her name.
The semester I graduated, I had to interact
with her a bit more. And I started seeing something special.
The more small interactions I had with her, the more I noticed the amazing diamond
in the rough.
This hit a peak during lunch with friends. Isabel cracked a joke that
made me laugh so hard, just one small moment — shifted the dynamic. Suddenly, she
wasn’t just a classmate or wallflower anymore. She was someone I wanted to know.
It stuck with me. A few nights later, I asked her out.
ISABEL:
UMMMM… I suggested we hang out first. Just to get to know each other better. 😛
SETH:
I was just happy that she didn’t say no. So we did.
ISABEL:
There wasn’t one big climactic moment for me. It was a bunch of small, sweet ones:
him opening doors, helping me with school projects, teaching me how to skateboard,
convos with honesty and kindness… So… I thought… “I could probably deal with this”.
SETH:
I took her to the Rose Garden in the Arboretum for one of our first dates.
(ISABEL: FORESHADOWING)
After that came arcade at Round One, tiny plushie prizes,
late-night conversations, good food, fun times
ISABEL:
The first time I asked him to hold hands I was really awkward about it, lol.
I didn’t know how far into the relationship the hand-holding was supposed to begin.
But we continued to grow closer as time went on.
SETH:
Later, when I moved to Tucson and Isabel stayed in California, we made long distance work.
We called, and I came over there, she came over here. Over time, we helped each other grow—
not just as a couple, but as individuals.
ISABEL:
Seth ended up being the person I felt closest to, even from miles away. He helped me
mature emotionally, and I encouraged him to grow in character and confidence. Our shared
faith in Christ was our foundation—learning together what it means to love well, forgive
often, and walk in grace. But that didn’t mean the distance wasn’t hard.
SETH:
I missed home, and I missed her. I couldn’t stay away—so I moved back.
ISABEL:
(YEAAAAAHHHHHHH WOOHOOO >:))
SETH:
We continued dating for a few months, and Isabel eventually came close to
graduating school, and she kept dropping hints (I don’t even think they were
hints, it was a pinterest board to rings)…. Then came the surprise proposal,
right where it all began: the Rose Garden.
ISABEL:
I THOUGHT I WAS JUST GOING TO A GRADUATION PHOTOSHOOT. Instead, as I turned around…
I saw Seth waiting with a ring.
SETH:
She tackled me.
ISABEL:
I also said yes.
SETH:
I was surprised it wasn’t another maybe.
ISABEL:
Now we’re planning a life together filled with shared projects, a family of plushies
(NO KIDS YET!!! >:(), and really good food (SETH: starting with brunch in Tucson on our
honeymoon, of course). I never would’ve thought our quiet interactions in a classroom would
grow into something so full of joy, purpose, and love.
SETH:
We’re so excited to celebrate with all of you, make unforgettable memories
(and maybe some questionable dance moves!), and give thanks to God for bringing
everyone together on this journey of love and faith!
